Surveys

Surveys!
You may be asking yourself, "What is a survey" and "Do I really need or want one." Then again maybe your not, but you should be!!!

According to the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors it is "A survey to determine the boundaries of a property. The cost depends on the complexity of the survey." Which is why I am posting this blog. I have a client. A very busy but also very kind client. I suggested that I could obtain quotes for him for a survey for a property he has had an accepted offer on in a rural area of Arkansas. I thought that the price would range around $250.00 to $300.00. Boy, was I surprised. I have gotten quotes from two different surveyors in central Arkansas the price ranges from $1500 up to $2800!! That is quite a difference from $300! I had no idea that it could cost that much in a rural area with acreage. That is the great thing about life and real estate, you can learn something everyday. Thankfully my buyer is grateful for my work and not to upset with me about the difference in price.
